SHOCKWAVE NEW

RADIAL SHOCKWAVE THERAPY
 £60 Initial Consultation / 1hr
£45 - 30mins
Radial Shockwave Therapy is a non-surgical, clinically proven treatment for chronic musculoskeletal problems, persistent pain or niggling joint issues.

Shockwave Therapy is recommended by the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE), recognised by the top orthopaedic hospitals, and used by high profile professional sports bodies such as the English Institute of Sport, UK Athletics, and Premier League Football and Rugby Clubs all over the UK.

  • WHAT DOES IT INVOLVE?

A hand-held device delivers impulses of kinetic energy, targeted to specific areas of the body and damaged tissues. The radial shockwaves initiate an inflammation-like response in the injured tissue being treated; prompting the body to respond naturally by increasing blood circulation, the number of blood vessels and therefore metabolism in the injured tissue, stimulating cell regeneration and healing.

  • WHAT CAN IT HELP WITH?

    Radial Shockwave Therapy is extremely effective in treating conditions such as;

    - Achilles Tendonitis / Tendinopathy

    - Plantar Fasciitis / Heel Spurs

    - Tennis / Golfers Elbow

    - Jumpers Knee

    - Patella Tendonitis / Tendinopathy

    - Shoulder Tendonitis

    - Generalised Joint pain

    - Soft Tissue Injuries

Shockwave also produces an analgesic response, often decreasing localised pain and in turn, improving mobility and movement.

  • WHAT CAN I EXPECT?

The initial session will last approximately 1 hour and will include a mandatory consultation to ensure that we address your issues fully, that we are working safely and in your best interests. The treatments are always discussed with you before any type of therapy is applied and you're happy with the approach.

Treatments can at times be uncomfortable during and afterwards, but Charles will communicate regularly throughout to ensure that he is working within your limits, and inform you of what to expect following a treatment. However, the effects are always subjective and depend largely on the issue being addressed and how long it has been evident.

Follow-up sessions are available in 30 minute blocks, and if appropriate will also include a combination of manual therapy.
